Christmas 2021 Dear Parents, It's only October, but we have been planning for the holidays. In years past, we have had organizations and individuals reach out to us asking for names of families who might need a little help providing gifts. We have been uncomfortable with the differences in the number of gifts and the costs of gifts that were donated. Some children received much more than other children, and while the gifts didn't come "from the school" since they were picked up here the perception was that the school provided them. It is important to us that the children all receive similar gifts, so we are continuing the guidelines we implemented last year. We will let all of our sponsoring organizations know that we would like one outfit and one toy ($15 or less) per child. We are strongly encouraging parents to sign up for Christmas help through the Salvation Army in Pittsburg. We will let you know the date of sign-ups so that you can be sure to get on their list. We are also letting you know this early so that you have ample time to look into other options for help. Members of the Arma church communities will be working with the school to provide some food for the holidays. If you would like to be considered for help through our sponsoring organizations, please contact Bev Presley by November 1. She can be reached at bpresley@usd246.org or 620-347-8461. Please let us know if you would like to be considered for food from the churches, gifts from organizations, or both.
