Northeast Mini Cheer Camp on Sunday, October 15th!
Due to Erie pulling out of the football jamboree at Jayhawk-Linn, it has been canceled for Friday, August 25th. You must have 3-4 teams in order to play in a Jamboree.
On Saturday, August 26th, the Northeast High School Varsity Volleyball Team will travel to Jayhawk-Linn for the TRL Volleyball Tournament! The Lady Vikings will begin play at 9:00 am against Altoona Midway!
Washington St and West St intersection just now opened--so Washington will be one-way westbound again for pick up of students. Sorry for the short notice--thank you!
With the extreme hot temperatures, USD246 personnel are taking precautions to keep all students hydrated and safe. Please be patient as activity schedules have altered their practice times to accommodate for the weather. Bus riders will be given water prior to getting on afternoon routes. Thank you!

Due to the extreme heat this week, we are adjusting practices at Northeast High School:
Cross Country - 6:15 am Monday through Friday.
Volleyball - 2:10-5:30 pm in the new gym Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Jamboree on Thursday @ Galena.
Football - 2:10-?? Monday-Wednesday(Use new gym after volleyball practice). Thursday-new gym at 2:10 pm. Friday-Jamboree @ Jayhawk-Linn.
Athletes have to have a required amount of practices in before the first competition date. It's imperative that the kids make these practice times.

ATTENTION JUNIOR HIGH FOOTBALL PARENTS: Due to the predicted extreme heat index there will be no practice today (Monday). For the remainder of this week... practice will be in the morning from 6:15-7:15 am. Students will be given time to change and eat breakfast prior to school.
On Friday, August 25th, the Northeast High School Football Team will travel to Jayhawk-Linn for a Jamboree with Jayhawk-Linn and Erie. The start time is scheduled for 7:00 pm!
The Northeast High School JV and Varsity Volleyball Team will travel to Galena for a Jamboree with Galena and Baxter on Thursday, August 24th for a 5:00 pm start!
USD#246 is accepting sealed bids for a 42 passenger school bus. It is in decent condition and runs--diesel motor. It is not suitable for schools as it has some weak welds around seating. If interested, it is located at Arma Sales and Service at 69 hwy in Arma, KS. Accepting sealed bids at central office till Sept. 1st.
The intersection at Washington and West will be open on Tuesday, Aug. 22nd. Parent pick-up and drop-off at the Elementary/JH buildings will go back to normal at that date. Thank you for your patience!
Northeast Junior High Students today in Math class building their spaghetti towers. Some of these were almost 2 feet tall!

The high school recognized our Class 1&2 state champion chess team. These students won state this past Spring.
Our August spotlight employee is the new weights teach Zach Vance. Zach will be coaching football and be our assistant girls basketball coach. Zach is a Pitt State graduate where he played football. We are very excited to have him at Northeast!
Freshman experience was a success yesterday. Freshman got to know our teachers and the different clubs that high school has to offer. We are looking forward to a great year!
Just a friendly reminder to all parents who are transporting students tomorrow at the Elementary and JH. 1) Please come to a complete stop at stop signs. 2) Please use your turn signals at the intersections. 3) Please drop off and pick up students on Washington St. Thanks you!
In addition, Washington St will be used as two-way traffic for this alternate route. The only entrance and exit to the school for parents will be from 8th St. Please plan accordingly and we thank you for your patience!
